Leadership Team

Brian Stack

CEO and Founder, Unityware
Research and Development

As a Software Scientist, Mr. Stack created system generating technologies, including a program generator capable of generating itself. The design, which is patented under his name, is an innovative mechanism for generating program code and user documentation which produces systems under 2% of the time it would take the best Rapid Application Development (RAD). The patent is granted and recognized in countries around the globe.

As a business leader he has built companies from the ground up including one he took public, then ran as a public company for four more years and another that was venture funded after securing industry luminaries as clients.

As of late he has headed the team that created a new way to do enterprise integration and the basis for a much easier and reliable way to adapt SOA.

Successfully demonstrated inventions to multinational companies (i.e.Beckman / Coulter) and investors. Applications developed by this new technology are employed in North America, Europe and the Pacific Rim. Suggested packaging and functionality of product for Western Europe, plus the handling of different modality for the United Kingdom.

Developed staff, built and trained team in new design and programming methodology. Negotiated leases for facilities and purchases of systems equipment. Created support systems and methodology department which became a significant profit center for the company.

Analyzed, designed and built a new hand-held, wireless Internet appliance which is eligible for a patent. Intimately acquainted with the Internet designing, building Application Service Providers (ASP) and embedded systems.

Professional speaker, accepting invitations from professional groups along the eastern seaboard. Raised seven million dollars for a private company and was principally involved in a successful Initial Public Offering (IPO.)

Performed and managed each step in software products’ life cycle from market requirements/competitive research through the design. Wrote document and release processes, product roll out and sales support to implementation and product support. Directed operational audits through the requirements/ functional specification processes, system design, and software development and deployment.

Conversant with Functional Requirements Specifications (FRS), which he has translated into design requirements and system design (Business Processes Models), as well as using embedded systems.

Produced preparatory documentation that was successfully used by sales forces. Brought software products to market – starting from an idea all the way through to COMDEX. Created a functional Software Development Division in a hardware company and succeeded competitively in the market place.

Attended, and completed, a program in Harvard Extension in Commercial Business Systems, which covered all aspects of Application Provider Model.

Dynamic senior software developer and analyst with over 30 years of field experience. Mr. Smeds is an independent thinker, with the will power and stamina to see new ideas and new methods to conclusion.

Possesses extensive experience in the development of software solutions for a variety of industries, as well as new first-of-a-kind technologies. With the right background for independent thought and discipline, new problems become new opportunities. Mr. Smeds possesses strong analytical skills to help find creative solutions. Mr. Smeds’ professional standing and commitment to excellence only capitalize on excellent writing, documentation and interpersonal skills. A rapid learner who can quickly fit into any design philosophy and offer new approaches to problem areas.

Over the last four years Mr. Smeds has been an active participant in the development and deployment of new patented software technologies. He has shown himself to be a true team player while maintaining a fixed eye on the committed project goals.

Mr. Smeds is a Senior Analyst and researcher. This includes analysis and development of applications using patented VRAD technology. Development and implementation of new kinds of methodologies for integrating third party tools and applications into the output of the VRAD (the finished application).

A responsible team member while developing and implementing diverse technologies including; serial communication capabilities for robotics process control, an application that had been created by VRAD technology.

Mr. Smeds worked closely with other research scientists in the lab to train the VRAD technology to create output in multiple languages including Visual C++ and ODBC. In addition he has worked closely with the Lead Scientist on the internals of the “artificial intelligence” engine of the VRAD environment.

Followed through with design and implementation of new database and access methodologies required by the “artificial intelligence” engine for future versions of the VRAD environment. Developed applications used to test the ability of the VRAD environment to create commercially viable software products.

Technical skills and competencies include a wide array of programming languages, across dynamic and diverse computer topographies.
